November Break

My 4 day break went really good for me. My favorite part from the 4-day break was Thanksgiving. On Thanksgiving I went out to eat with my family. After that we ate ALOT of turkey mash potatoes, pumpkin pie & really bomb ice cream. I don't think I've ever been that full in a long long while. Overall, my break went by smooth and perfect. There wasn't really anything that could've gone better.

Choice Of Gratitude

When I was 16 years old, I was a Junior at Point Loma High School and at the end of the year I got caught with prescription pills on campus. I was arrested and charged with 3 felonies and 3 misdemeanors. I was then sentenced to a year of probation along with 60 hours of community service and 6 months drug class. I was doing pretty good all the way until April when I got caught up with a detox drink in my class room. My teacher saw it and called my Probation officer and then it got counted as a violation and they gave me a court date. When I went to court they sentenced me to 21 days in Juvenile Hall. During those 21 days I was just thinking about how it would be possible for me to turn my life around, and from there on I knew that the only way to start being successful rather than miserable is to start doing better in school. So I kept doing good in school and participation in Juvenile hall. When I was released I was really happy and I made a commitment to start making better decisions and to do whatever it takes to get off probation. I started getting good grades, clean drug test results for my p.o.  finished all of my community service & drug class stuff that I had to take care of. I started realizingh that ironically I was really glad that I went through this experience as a minor rather than going through this experience as an adult because my situation could've been way worse! I learned a lot from this experience and hopefully others learn from theirs too.

Pet Peeves

Something that truly bugs me is when people try to blame everything and/or everyone for their failures in life. People shouldn't be ashamed of failing/ making mistakes in life because it's completely normal to be messing up. We mess up so we can learn from our mistakes and hopefully do better the next time around.

Respect

Respect is a feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities, or achievements. My definition of respect is when a person treats another person the good way they want to be treated. I give my respect to most of the people that I associate with. The only way I would not be able to respect someone is if they show some sign of disrespect to me (which usually doesn't happen). There would have to be a really bad reason for me not to be able to respect a certain person. The only way to earn's someone's respect is to show them that you can respect yourself and others.

How Was It?

The Thanksgiving luncheon was very nice. I loved the food that was being served including turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, & pumpkin pie. It was all so delicious.

What would be your ideal job? How does this feed into your passion for a career? What is the best/worst job you've held so far?

My ideal job at the moment is being a dj. I'm quite glad to say that I get a good amount pay for dj'ing each show. I usually get called to spin at clubs in downtown san diego, and it gets quite fun. Doing this as an ideal job has really motivated me into making this into a big career. I would definitely be ready to make this a career . But before that can happen I need to continue to produce more of my own music. Hopefully all goes sucessfully for me.

Academic Life

How have you taken something that you have learned in the classroom and integrated it into your nonacademic life?
I have learned the many ways of being responsible and how to maintain my responsibility in this class. I've learned how to use these skills very well and have brought them out with me in my non academic life. I'm responsible at home and I do whatever my parents advise me to do.

thankful blog

I'm very thankful for the shelter I'm living in right now and I'm thankful for my parents that are able to provide me with the stuff I need, because it really shows that they love me and want me to do what's best for my future so I'm able to do the same to my own kids one day. If I could send a letter to someone from my past , I would write it to my grandma because she always had me and my whole family's back and was there to support us no matter how hard my family was struggling at times.

School Attendance Response

School attendance should and always be mandatory to all students that are willing to comply with the rules and get the education they need to make it out into the real world. Education is what we all need in order to be able to function in life and do what we really want to set our minds to. Without education, everyone around us would be doing crazy, selfish things that wouldn't even matter because we'd be too uneducated to even know what the consequences of the situation really are. It's the only thing that is keeping us & our next upcoming generations smart and efficient for their turn to be able to postively change the world.
